"My name is Gina and I am a service user. This is my story."

I am Gina a 17 year old girl, and I was put in touch with CADDY cos I was done for assault on my sister while we were both drunk. I was living with my dad and didn’t get on with my mum who didn’t live with us. I got on fine with my sister but we often had fights if we had been drinking. I also use cannabis, ecstasy and Base. I feel bad depressed a lot of the time, and I’ve been taking anti-depressants. Sometimes I feel so bad, I cut myself.

When I was put in touch with CADDY, I was drinking in the morning, afternoon and evening, and after I got done for assault, it was worse, cos I needed to forget about things and drinking helped me get through the day. Not long after I went to CADDY, I fell out with my dad and he threw me out. My worker at CADDY got me a room at a hostel, but I felt so bad I got myself into hospital. My worker visited me and made sure I knew what was happening, and helped me get somewhere to go when I got out of hospital, that could give me support with my problems. I’ve cut down on my drinking and things are better.
