"My name is Tom and I am a service user. This is my story."

I’m 13 years old. I was put in touch with CADDY by my social worker cos I took benzodiazepines and Paracetamol tablets and ended up in hospital. I didn’t really want to talk to anyone, but the worker from CADDY explained that I could talk to her in confidence. I told her that I’d been taking whatever tablets I could find lying around, as well as cider, brandy, beer... nearly every day, and that I hated school.

My worker helped me by giving me information about drugs and talking to me while we were doing things like playing pool. She helped me say what I wanted when there was a meeting with my mum and school. I feel much better about myself and don’t drink so much, even when my mates are doing it.
