In general, any information that is given in confidence to us by someone, will not be shared with anyone outside the service, without the person’s written permission. There may be times however, when it is not possible to keep the confidentiality agreement. This will only happen in certain circumstances, where staff feel it is absolutely necessary. For example we might have to break our confidentiality agreement with you where;
- The courts place an obligation on staff
- You or someone else is at risk of serious harm.
- There is disclosure of a terrorist offence (this would have to be reported to the police).
Wherever possible, we will talk to you about this before we do anything.
You are welcome to talk to one of our workers about any aspect of our confidentiality policy, if you would like to find out more.
