We can provide support to Carers in a number of ways :

Young Carers
A Young Carer is a young person who is affected by a family member’s drug and alcohol use. A member of our staff will try to help them say what their difficulties and needs are, and provide a safe and confidential space for them to offload and think about the things that are affecting them. We try to help young carers find ways of coping with their difficulties and discuss ways of staying safe.

Parents
Parents/family members can ring up for support at times of crisis or for ongoing support, advice and information. Some parents will get their own worker, who will help them think about their problems and needs as parents of a young person who is misusing substances. We can provide ongoing support and help to them in their parenting (e.g. setting rules and boundaries).

We have a six week ‘Your Time’ Drug Education and Parenting Programme which can be delivered to groups of parents who are looking for extra information and support.
