- You will be treated with respect and dignity by Trust staff at all times.
- Information disclosed by you to Trust staff will be kept confidential to the service, and the Trust confidentiality policy and circumstances in which information would need to be shared will be explained to you.
- You will be offered an assessment and an individual plan of care based on your individual needs.
- You will be involved in drawing up and reviewing your care plan and treatment. You will receive information on the treatment options available to you and, wherever possible, be offered the opportunity to make choices about these options.
- You will be offered a copy of your written care plan.
- If you require assistance with your communication, assistance such as interpretation or the provision of written information in another format can be arranged for your assessment and following appointments.
- You will receive harm minimisation advice and overdose prevention information.
- If you do not attend an appointment you will be contacted and offered another one - in accordance with the Trust policy of trying to keep people engaged in treatment.
- You have the right to complain and make comments without it threatening your treatment. Ask your drug/alcohol/support worker or contact the service service user engagement worker.
- You have the right to information and advice on a range of issues such as testing and vaccinations for blood borne viruses, benefits, education, training, employment and housing. If required your drug/alcohol/support worker will refer you to the right services.
- You will receive a welcome pack upon starting treatment with the Trust which includes :
- Harm minimisation advice
- Needle exchange locations (DSB only)
- What to expect when starting treatment
- Details on the service user group that meets in your area
- Complaints Procedure
- Confidentiality Policy
- Contact details and opening hours of the service
- When you leave treatment with the Trust, your aftercare needs will be discussed with you, including referring you to other agencies who can offer ongoing support.
