Abbas’s story
"My name is Abbas and I am a service user. This is my story.

Two years ago I used to take drugs until I heard that I could get treatment. I went to my doctors for help with my drug taking, and they told me about what Swanswell do, so I asked if I could be referred.

I had a lot of help and support from Swanswell, and they also put me in touch with supporting people so that I could get some help with sorting out my debts.

I was doing so well that I was able to get a small job with a friend, and I had money, but then a year down the line, I got stressed so I went back on drugs for a few weeks, until I had a talk with my Swanswell worker and together we sorted things out. I take Subutex everyday now and I am sorting my life out.

Now if I have any problems, I can talk to people who can help me. I have been off drugs for about a year and a half now.

I owe my life to Swanswell. Thank you for taking the time to read my story."
