What's the Group About ?

The Service Users Say (SUS) Group has been in existence since October 2005, and has met on a weekly basis in Birmingham. The group is open to current service users of DSB. and ex-service users who are now drug free, and who think they would benefit from meeting other people who have similar problems. We share useful information, experiences and give each other mutual support.

The group meets on Wednesday's at the DSB offices, and about 40 people have attended, although the average is about 10. We get support from a paid member of staff, who is called the Service User Co-ordinator for Birmingham.

What Do Service Users Say About the Group ?

"Is a group of DSB service users who attend weekly meetings and talk about different topics. Group members bring topics for the agenda as well.

These could be difficulties we have had or suggestions on how things could be. DSB ask our opinion about different things and we also get to hear about other meetings that are going on and projects that we can get involved in. We do therapies like Acupuncture in the ears, Reiki, Reflexology and there are free herbal teas.

I have represented the group at meetings with DSB managers also at the D.A.T to plan next years service user event (last years was called Stayin Alive) and designing questionnaires for service users." Ian
