Health professionals

Working with healthcare professionals in a positive, respectful relationship, Swanswell delivers drug and alcohol services in a variety of healthcare settings, including GP services, health centres, hospitals, at services for the homeless and vulnerably housed, as well as in the community.

We work closely with healthcare professionals in many of our services, including:

  • alcohol awareness training
  • screening and brief intervention training project funded by Public Health
  • community alcohol services
  • assessment services
  • shared care drug treatment services
  • hospital alcohol intervention service (link-nurse system)

Our services achieve consistently high success rates. For example, Swanswell in Coventry’s success rate with clients is consistently around 40%, based on rigorous criteria that produce a conservative figure.

Swanswell works hard with our partners and commissioners to constantly improve the accessibility of all our services. An example of this is the Hiddun (Hidden Drug Users Needs) research project, which sought to shed light on why some groups take up services less than others. Click here to view the Hiddun report in full.
