What do we do ?
Our staff work in partnership with the National Probation Service with people involved in the Criminal Justice system, to reduce the harm associated with their alcohol/drugs related offending. Offenders who use the service have access to the full range of services offered by our other drugs and alcohol services.
In Coventry we offer 2 nationally validated programmes of work called the Drink Impaired Drivers Programme (DIDs), and Low Intensity Alcohol Misuse Programme (LIAP), which help people analyse and change their offending behaviour.
In Warwickshire, we offer the Alcohol Treatment Requirement - where people are required by the Court to undertake an assessment of their suitability for alcohol treatment, and if suitable, are provided with a programme of work to look at the influence of alcohol on their behaviour.
In Birmingham we provide drug treatment for priority and prolific offenders. We also provide treatment as part of the drug intervention program (DIP) which includes working with offenders in probation and transferring their care into primary care when they are stable. We work in partnership with a prison in-reach worker to ensure prisoners receive services when released.
Who do we work with ?
In Coventry and Warwickshire, we work exclusively with people over the age of 18 years who are referred by the Courts, to undertake one of the specialist programmes. In Birmingham we work with people over the age of 18 years, who have been referred by the Probation Service and Police.
When is the service available ?
Our offices are open Monday to Friday 9.00 -5pm but programmes are delivered over a period of some weeks in the daytime and evenings.
Where are we based ?
Staff are based in our Alcohol Service offices in Coventry and Warwickshire, and in the Drug Solutions Birmingham offices in Birmingham. They will work with people in a number of different locations.
How to contact us
This is not an open access service, so people are referred by the Courts, Probation Service and Police.
