About us

At Swanswell, we believe that everyone deserves the chance to change and to be happy. We help them to remove the things that stand in their way, whether physical, emotional or practical. So, as their lives improve, they can feel well, do well, and stay well.

Swanswell is a charitable trust with 40 years experience of delivering successful community-based programmes Our current portfolio includes a wide range of services to support people, their families, carers and affected others with problems related to drug and/or alcohol misuse.

Partnership working
Swanswell brings together many different resources required to reduce harm and help people to lead happier lives. We work in partnership with healthcare providers, local authorities, national probation services, government agencies and third-sector organisations. This holistic approach removes barriers and offers a real prospect of change.

Staff and service user involvement
Swanswell develops tailor-made solutions that provide practical, physical and emotional support by taking a client-centred approach with individual service users. We value the contribution that our staff and the people who use our services make to the development of our services and we have adopted a policy of establishing strong staff and service user forums. Service user participation is encouraged at all levels including Swanswell’s Board of Trustees.

Our Constitution
We are a registered charity and company limited by guarantee, regulated by the Charity Commission. We have a Board of experienced and committed Trustees who are responsible for our overall performance. Current Chair of the Board, Mick Wells, has considerable experience of managing both social and health care services. Our Chief Executive, Debbie Bannigan, and a team of senior managers are responsible for the day-to-day management of our organisation. Our management team are located at our Head Office in Rugby.
